How to Apply for New Ration Card in Rajasthan

Before moving any further, let we discuss about the types of Ration Cards in Rajasthan so that you can get clear idea for which category you need to apply and what all benefits you can claim for same.

APL Ration Cards
This is for the families whose annual household income lies above poverty line. They are issued blue/green ration card. There are two categories for APL cards in Rajasthan. One is for double gas holders (blue card) and second is for single gas cylinder holders in the state (light green in color).

BPL Ration Cards
Issued to families with income less than poverty line. It is issued in dark pink and dark green colors.

Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY) Ration Cards
Yellow in color and are issued to BPL families who met required conditions.

Now let we move to the main tutorial i.e. how to apply for new ration card in Rajasthan. So please follow below procedure for applying a new card:

• You need to fill in online/offline ration card application form which is available online as well as offline

• You can download online form from here or else you can find the same form from offline resources such as ration card authorized offices, food supply office etc.

• Fill in all the columns/details and attach required documents alongside

• Once done, submit the application form (along with all supported documents) to the concerned office

You will be issued new ration card within 7-15 days of the application.

Renew Ration Card in Rajasthan

You need to renew your ration card status time to time. It is just a stamping that shows your details are up to mark and correct in the card. You need to visit Gram Pancahayat office (in rural areas) or food and supply offices (in urban areas) for getting stamping done for your ration cards.

Add/Change/Delete Names, Address from Ration Cards

For any of these activities, you need to submit simple application form along with the appropriate documents. Below are the documents that you need to attach along with the simple application:

Name Change: Proof like newspaper cutting that shows the advertisement of name change.

Address Change: Electricity/Water/Telephone bill issued to new address or statement from two neighbors and surrender certificate from previous ration card office.

Add Names: Birth certificate in case of new born child or surrender/deletion certificate in case of marriage.

Delete/Remove Names: Death certificate or marriage certificate for getting deletion/surrender certificate.
Simply attach any of these documents (respective document as per your requirement) along with the ration card application form to concerned body and changes/modifications will be made in your card.
